GROUP PRENATAL CLASSES

UPCOMING GROUP DATES

Tuesday, April 13 @ 5pm-9pm

Saturday, April 15 @ 10am-2pm

This small group prenatal class helps couples feel both practically and emotionally prepared for birth and the transition into parenthood. Drawing from my experience as a trauma-informed therapist and doula with over 10 years of birth education experience, the class focuses on both the physical process of labour and how couples can support each other through it.

We cover the final weeks of pregnancy, the stages and physiology of labour, comfort measures and positioning, partner support, navigating hospital environments, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding basics. We also discuss how stress, past experiences, and relationship dynamics can show up during labour and the early postpartum period.

The group setting allows couples to learn together, ask questions, and connect with others who are preparing for birth at the same time. This class is ideal for couples in the third trimester who want practical tools, emotional preparation, and a deeper understanding of the birth and postpartum experience.

The cost of this class is $250/couple for 4 hours and is eligible for reimbursement through counselling benefits.

Every story begins with a birth, a becoming, or the longing for one. As a doula, I witnessed the hope, uncertainty, and heartbreak of pregnancy, birth, and trying to conceive. As a therapist, I continue that work of holding space, helping you process your experiences, make sense of your story, and find your own strength

BASIC PACKAGE: Essential Birth Preparation – $500

This private prenatal preparation package combines counselling and birth education to help you feel emotionally and practically prepared for birth. We begin with a 50–60 minute intake session in my Abbotsford office where we explore your history, any past experiences that may impact how you approach labour, and any fears or concerns about birth or becoming a parent. This allows the prenatal session to be tailored specifically to you.

The prenatal class is approximately 3 hours and can take place in your home or in my office. We cover the end of pregnancy, stages of labour, comfort measures and positioning, navigating hospital environments, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding basics, and supporting your relationship through the transition to parenthood. If the session takes place in your home, we can also practice labour positions using your own space.

Total cost is $500 and is eligible for reimbursement through counselling benefits

from doula to therapist

I became a doula after the birth of my first child, and in that experience, I realized that I was being birthed into motherhood myself. It was a transformative moment that showed me the profound depth of change, growth, and vulnerability that comes with welcoming a new life. Since then, I have attended many births over 10 years, witnessing moments of incredible beauty and joy, as well as sitting with parents through loss, fear, and outcomes no one could have anticipated. I have also been teaching prenatal classes for six years, supporting parents as they prepare for birth and early parenthood.

These experiences taught me the power of presence, compassion, and holding space not just for babies, but for the people bringing them into the world. Over time, I realized that the care and support I offered as a doula naturally extended into the emotional and psychological realm. Becoming a therapist allowed me to continue this work, helping clients process their experiences, make sense of their stories, and find strength, healing, and resilience in the midst of life’s most profound moments. My work is rooted in the same deep care that guided me through those births, now expanded to support the full spectrum of emotional and mental wellbeing.
